Dining at WestQuay – The Opening

If you’ve done your Christmas shopping already and paid a visit to WestQuay then you might have noticed some of it’s new eateries, including Pizza Express, Wagamama and Cafe Rouge, all ideal for a bit of retail relief and refuelling! The official opening of the new dining experience at WestQuay took place last Thursday, I went along to check out all the action (and free food!).

Nice bit of free blueberry cupcake from Delightful Cupcakes!

The highlight was front row seats to see Aldo Zilli cook up a three course meal…I never knew how simple it was to make pasta without a machine! I’ll definitely be giving homemade pasta more of a go after watching Aldo’s demonstration. He also highlighted just how much pasta is enough and how most of us use way too much! So that was a little bit of an eye opener! It was amazing to watch though, the dessert was my favourite…a yummy panettone with fruits and dessert wine – something I hope to dish up soon.

Aldo Zilli cooking up a storm!

The free samples from Millie’s Cookies, Dream Cupcakes and more were also fab, along with the chance to win a gorgeous retro fridge and year’s worth of lunches at WestQuay.

Thanks to the folks at WestQuay for the invite!

Well here’s some exciting news (and another reason to go)…the new Dining at WestQuay officially opens this month on Thursday 22nd November. New foodie offering at WestQuay

To celebrate the opening there’s lots of fun foodie goings on – including live cookery demos from celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, who’ll be dishing out culinary advice and dishing up pasta chitarra with four tomato sauce, baked cod with black olive crust and a panettone dessert. Plus chefs from some of Dining at WestQuay’s new and existing restaurants will also be demonstrating some of their most popular dishes, including the new Wagamama – yum!

Celebrity Chef Aldo Zilli will be showcasing his skills at WestQuay on Thursday

And as if that wasn’t enough to get you down to WestQuay this Thursday, there will also be all kinds of menu samples from new and existing WestsQuay foodie outlets – the list includes Hotel Chocolat, Starbucks, Café Giardino and many more. I’m told prizes, special offers and discounts will also be up for grabs on the day  too – sounds a like a fab foodie outing to me. And with WestQuays’s shops open until 8pm there’ll be time to cross a few things off my Christmas shopping list too.

All the action starts with Aldo Zilli’s first demonstration at 12pm this Thursday 22nd.

Creativity Competition

A good tea break can often be the starting point for some inspiration and it seems the people at In Nature Teas know this, because they’ve launched a creativity competition! In celebration of the launch of some new products and the approach of the festive season, In Nature are asking for creative interpretations around the theme of ‘Holiday Seasons and In Nature Teas’…you can use any format from a short film, to a picture or even an essay!

So why not put the kettle on and see what inspires you? How about a tea haiku or even an Art-Attack-style collage of loose leaf tea?! You’ve got until the end of November to enter.

Full details can be found on the In Nature Teas website, check out their blog for more.

Have fun!
